We'll Help You To Bid "Farewell" To Your Anxiety

Millions of patients across the U.S. suffer from some level of anxiety or fear related to the thought of going to the dentist … and not without reason. Over the decades, dental offices across the country have gained a reputation for performing painful procedures, unmedicated treatments, and almost archaic forms of operation. Thankfully, times have changed. At our state-of-the-art periodontist center in Fairfax & Woodbridge, VA, Dr. Ahmad Hawasli and his team offer a full range of dental anesthesia options to make your procedure as comfortable, convenient and painless as possible. We offer conscious inhaled sedation, which is a form of oral sedation designed to depress the central nervous system to the point where the patient feels virtually nothing throughout a procedure. If you’re looking for world-class sedation anesthesia near you, give the expert team at Woodbridge Periodontal and Implant Center a call today!

We offer sedation dentistry services customized to your unique level of dental fear to minimize your anxiety and worry.

Do You Need Sedation Dentistry For Your Treatment?

Our Variety of Sedation Dentistry Methods

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is one of the most common forms of sedation dentistry we offer at our Fairfax & Woodbridge, VA periodontal clinic. Particularly during bone grafting and/or dental implant procedures, customized oral sedation treatments allow patients to relax and experience a nearly pain-free operation while they are receiving their full arch restorations. The specific dental anesthesia you receive will depend on a variety of factors, which is why it is necessary to contact our office and speak with Dr. Hawasli prior to your dental surgery or treatment.

Nitrous Oxide

Often referred to as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is a common form of sedation dentistry that allows patients to relax during their treatment without having to succumb to powerful oral dental anesthesia. Regarded as a “milder” form of sedation, patients are generally able to drive themselves home after their nitrous oxide treatment wears off.

Conscious Inhaled Sedation

One minimalist approach that maintains the complete care and comfort of each patient at Woodbridge Periodontal and Implant Center is inhalation conscious sedation. This approach can be applied to most of our treatments and procedures. With conscious inhaled sedation, you will remain alert during your comfortable and virtually pain-free treatment. Conscious dental sedation prioritizes the comfort of the patient, while minimizing the risk of adverse side effects.

Dental Anesthesia For A Safe, Efficient And Comfortable Experience

The benefit of sedation dentistry is twofold: it allows patients to experience a virtually pain-free treatment, but more importantly, it allows patients to receive the oral care they need in a timely and efficient manner. Far too often, patients delay or completely skip necessary dental treatments due to dental anxiety or an irrational fear of going to the dentist. Avoiding treatment not only exacerbates any current condition, it can tremendously increase the risk of developing serious complications down the road! More importantly, sometimes the complications of avoiding oral treatment don’t stop at the mouth. Our oral health is directly tied to our systemic (whole-body) health, which means that oral disease and inflammation can easily affect other parts of the body if left untreated. In some instances, oral health issues that go untreated can increase the risk of serious – and even life-threatening! – conditions such as stroke, diabetes and heart disease. As you can see, while sedation dentistry is effective for making your dental procedures less painful, it is also important as preventive care against developing serious physiological health conditions. Don’t prolong your treatment! Call our office today and speak with one of our oral health experts to learn more about our sedation dentistry options.
